Garden Studio for an Artist

Visualisation of our proposal for an artist’s studio in Brockley Conservation Area in the London Borough of Lewisham. The studio is to be located in the garden of the artist’s home to provide greater flexibility for working hours and to significantly reduce her commute. It has a uniform facade clad in charred timber, with secure doors painted in a bright yellow. The roof of the studio is pitched, with a zinc-clad funnel to the northern slope extending upwards to provide north light for the artist’s work. The southern slope is a green roof with wildflower planting.
